An exciting opportunity has arisen with our client, a group of companies and a market leader in the financial services industry for the role of Payroll Officer. This position reports to the Human Resources Business Partner.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Capturing and processing all engagements, terminations, and updates on current employees.
- Accurately capturing all payroll input relating to employee monthly payments, additions, deductions, and other variables.
- Insuring compliance and adherence of the payroll input to the organisational HR Policy and the Labour Act.
- Preparing and submitting all monthly statutory, third-party payments and returns in line with deadlines.
- Processing staff related benefits including loans and termination benefits.
- Conducting all monthly and annual payroll system processes including rollovers and backups.
- Conducting regular checks to ensure the integrity of the payroll database, updating data as necessary including legislative changes and ensuring that the payroll database is working properly.
- Preparing weekly, monthly and quarterly payroll reports.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Diploma in Business Administration / Human Resources or equivalent.
- Payroll Certificate (SAGE preferably).
- At least 2-years’ experience in a similar role.
- Ability to handle large payroll volumes.
- Ability to handle multiple levels of authority and staff.
- Excellent mathematical skills and the ability to pay attention to detail.
