Key Responsibilities:
As the Cost Accountant, you will play a critical role in supporting the business through accurate cost analysis and inventory control. Your duties will include:
- Performing product costing and variance analysis, ensuring costs are accurately captured and reported.
- Monitoring and reconciling inventory and stock accounts, identifying discrepancies and proposing corrective actions.
- Tracking stock movements, including raw materials, WIP, and finished goods, across the supply chain and factory floor.
- Calculating actual production costs and comparing them against standards or budgets to highlight inefficiencies.
- Evaluating material, labour, and overhead costs to determine accurate product pricing.
- Preparing and analysing cost reports, dashboards, and margin analysis to support business decision-making.
- Participating in the monthly close process, journal postings, and cost allocations.
- Collaborating with operations and procurement teams to drive cost-saving initiatives and process improvements.
- Conducting physical stock counts, coordinating with production and stores teams to ensure inventory integrity.
- Supporting audits by providing detailed cost data and reconciliations.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- CA(Z), CIMA or ACCA qualification (completed or in final stages).
- 3+ years of relevant experience in cost accounting, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Solid understanding of cost control principles, inventory management, and ERP systems.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and a hands-on approach.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
