Our client is seeking a capable individual to serve as the Head of Business Development to lead and innovate within a dynamic environment, shaping the future of the organisations growth and market presence. This position plays a crucial role in growing and retaining organisational customer base by developing and implementing comprehensive sales, retention, and product development strategies. This role ensures the achievement of revenue targets, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Business development planning – develop and implement the Annual Business Development Plan aligned with strategic goals for customer base, revenue, and retention.
- Collaborate with the Product Development Team to research and analyse local, regional, and international market trends.
- Ensure alignment of sales targets and pricing structures with organisational objectives.
- Financial Management and Control – develop and oversee the departmental budget, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- Monitor financial performance and take corrective actions for budget overruns.
- Sales Management – define and execute the sales strategy, including market penetration and retention plans.
- Lead and inspire the sales team to meet annual customer and revenue targets.
- Relationship Management – build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, stakeholders, and prospects.
- Represent the organisation at business forums and social events to foster partnerships.
- New Product Development – Identify market gaps and oversee the development of innovative products and services.
- Departmental Management – maintain and update organisational structures to meet departmental goals.
Required Skills & Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Sales and Marketing, or a related field.
- Postgraduate qualification in Marketing Strategy, Business Leadership, or equivalent.
- A minimum of 6-8 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Polished, friendly, and composed under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Business acumen and ability to negotiate effectively.
